Renewable energy
Here is definition: Renewable energy is energy generated from natural resources—such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides and geothermal heat—which are renewable (naturally replenished).Renewable energy technologies range from solar power, wind power, hydroelectricity/micro hydro, biomass and biofuels for transportation. Renewable energy is something the world needs to use we use tons non-renewable like fossils fuels toxic waste which also kills our environment causing massive world problems like global warming which most people don’t even focus on it. If humans continually use non-renewable energy causing all this smoke into the Sky Mountains of I will melt into the ocean flooding into our homes and cities.
If we only use renewable we can slow down our global
warming rate by centuries. We need people to invest in renewable energy and
stop investing in non-renewable energy. Solar panels are really expensive we
can just get the government to build them with our taxes and save us all from
the tragedy of global warming. We can easily cook with solar panels and
reflection of the sun.

Planting
Planting is a procedure
that is not as easy as it looks.
Step 1 of planting was to spread charcole across the soil this is a
nesaty because the charcole absorbes the water into the soil so the plant ay
drink.
Ø Step 2 was to put chicken poop onto the soil
Ø Step 3 was to bone marrow across the soil
Ø Step 4 was to apply cardboard onto the soil and cover every inch
this absorbs water
Ø Step 5 was to then cut holes in the cardboard
Ø Step 6 take the plants and put it into worm poo
Ø Step 7 this was to place the plants into the soil within the holes
Ø Step 8 cover up the holes with compost
Why is planting good?
Planting is a good way for
you to grow food in your own garden and is a much helthier way to get vegtables
and your fruits.

TYPES OF SOIL
What is soil and the different types of soil and the
different types of earth worms and also different techniques of making soil
Red wrigglers (help start window garden
Also garden worms
Cold/hot
Decomposed organic matter is compost
You need anything alive (green) something that has just
died (yellow) also manure and veggie scraps (brown) Dead layer is think Alive
layer is thin Build the pile until it is one meter big Cold compost you leave
it for long (6 months) red wrigglers are good
Plants need carbon dioxide to grow (photosynthesis) you
can build soil and make humus which cause the carbon dioxide to be trapped.

FOOD AND
NUTRITION
We all went for a talk on nutrition and healthy
alternative snacks. The talk’s main topic was
on making wraps purely out of vegetables with all the main nutrients
that you need to survive. The wraps were made of Kale humus tomatoes. The kale
is fulled with healthy nutrients and vitamins.
1.
We got taught on how to make the humus with
different spices and herbs (the humus tasted really good even though it had no
sugar or anything)
2.
We had to cook the kale leaves in
boiling water for 10 seconds.
3.
Put out the kale leaves out on the
table and cut off the stalks
4.
Took our humus mix and put into the
kale leaves
5.
Wrap the kale leaves up and taste it
Personal
opinion
I really enjoyed the kale wraps I
never expected them too. It was really an interesting experience for me and
everyone too.
I tried to do it at home but it
didn’t taste as good I think I might have done something wrong

IMPORTANCE OF AGRICULTURE
Agriculture is important to learn and to be responsible of
growing our own food, we can save money and learn about growing plants in the
right places. We have got to be careful of where we place the plants in the
environment and how much water and sun light the plants get.
We know it will be
heathy and fresh, a little thing like that can spread friends will come to your
house and your friends will tell their friends and do on we can learned more about soil and red worm
that I probably would learn in a year this experience we palyed game with world
we didn’t even know but we went in clueless and came out with knowledge

FUTURE IMPROVEMENTS ON THE FIELD TRIP
GABRIEL DE GRAAF: I think that it was an extremely hot day, and that the day should have been chosen more wisely, as most of the stations were in the heat.
JOSEPH PEPLER: I think we could have been able to combine some of the related stations into one, so we can still learn what we need to, just there is more time saved.
LAWRENCE MASHA: I think that they should have tried t make the workshops more interactive
JONATHON BORDER: I think they should cancel the making of food station, as it does not serve a big purpose, and takes up a lot of time.
GREG MEDCALF: Make some of the stations longer, so we can learn more on the important ones, and less time on the less important ones (diet)
OVERALL REFLECTION
We all thought that overall the field trip worked out great, as it was convenient having it at school, and was also very enjoyable, as some of the stations were interactive, which was making something fun, whilst also learning in the same process. It was also really nice to do something different, instead of the norm, learning in the classroom. Overall we all thought the field trip was a great success
